Jonah McLean (DUX) is a Portland-based producer, songwriter, and electronic funk artist. Under the moniker DUX, he creates what he calls “alien-funk” - a blend of lush grooves and funky beats made in collaboration with friends and loved ones.

Jonah has been collaborating with choreographer Sarita Persaud for more than a decade. The two are married and share an ongoing creative partnership, merging sound and movement across projects that range from performance to film. Their collaboration lies at the heart of Field Study, where Jonah’s music provides the pulse and atmosphere for expansive, transportive dance works.

With a background in production, audio engineering, and artist coaching, Jonah’s work extends beyond performance, helping shape not just music but the creative ecosystems in which it lives.
